Mission:
Objective: To encourage school-wide participation and offering a meaningful philanthropic opportunity for all Nataki students.
Timeline: September 27 - November 22
Project Information by School of Thought
First School of Thought
- Project Talk: Students will learn about project
- Collection: Teachers collect funds to be donated
SPECIFIC TIMELINE:
- September 27: Project Talk (facilitated by homeroom teacher)
- September 28: Teacher collects parent signature page
- October 5 to 15: Teacher collects donated funds
- October 18: Teacher submits check request and turns in funds to Accts Payable
- November 22: DDP Thank You Assembly
OUTCOMES: Students will written assignment portion of project and receive thank you from the organization.
Second School of Thought
- Project Talk: Students will learn about project
- How-To Workshop: Students will learn how to create items for donation
- Maker Time: Students work on making items for donation
- Collection: Teacher collects completed items for donation
SPECIFIC TIMELINE:
- September 27: Project Talk (facilitated by homeroom teacher)
- September 28: Teacher collects parent signature page
- September 30: Students participate in workshop with Mr. Ofei (guest maker from DIA)
- October 1 to 15: Students work in homerooms and room 7 to complete items for donation
- October 18: Teacher sends items and gift letter to organization
- November 22: DDP Thank You Assembly
OUTCOMES: Students will written assignment portion of project and receive thank you from the organization.
Third School of Thought
- Project Talk: Students will learn about project from homeroom teacher
- Volunteer Visit: Students will participate in community service activity for nonprofit organization
- Reflection: Students prepare essay
SPECIFIC TIMELINE:
- September 27: Project Talk (facilitated by homeroom teacher)
- September 28: Teacher collects parent signature page
- September 30: Students will receive permission slips (due October 8th to homeroom teachers)
- November 3: 6th grade visits nonprofit for community service activity
- November 8: 7th grade visits nonprofit for community service activity
- November 10: 8th grade visits nonprofit for community service activity
- November 16: All reflection essays due to homeroom teachers
- November 22: DDP Thank You Assembly
