- Sun Curve Challenge: ISKME announces the Sun Curve Design Challenge, a partnership with INKA, the creator of the Sun Curve hydroponic garden and laboratory and ISKME's OER Commons project, to challenge teachers and students to produce new OER materials and incorporate green design thinking into the classroom.

- MetaSchool 2009 Workshop "Open Educational Resources and Climate Change Study", Crete, Greece, July 6-10, 2009. Using science resources, learning about the Collaboratory model for teaching and "doing science", and applying principles of OER to climate change study in the K-12 classroom.
- From STEM to STEAM: Incorporating the Arts and OER into Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, 2009, an ongoing project focused on Multi-disciplinary approaches to STEM teaching and learning and the use of open content.
2008
- International OER Exchange Pilot: Our 2008 program with middle school science teachers in several countries to learn to share curriculum and student projects about climate change study.

- Learn about Stanford Summer Teaching Institute 2008, "OER and Web 2.0 in the Classroom": Our summer teacher training program focusing on open teacher-led curriculum, social networking, and many common digital and online applications, such as flickr, podcasts, or del.icio.us, that teachers can easily learn to integrate into their practice.
- CSTA Collaborative Networking and Open Resources for Teaching Investigative Science: A presentation and interactive introduction to OER and contemporary science in the K-12 classroom, from the California Science Teachers Association, 2008 Conference.
- ISKME EdForum May 2008: "From Collaboratories to Public Space: Bringing the World to Students and Putting Classrooms in the Wild": View video clips from ISKME's 2008 EdForum that focused on authentic learning experiences in science and using technology.
- MELT Summer School Project: An international project and workshop based in Europe for K-12 teachers to engage with resources that can "travel well" across regions.
ISKME Research and Frameworks for OER
- OER Case Study Project: A in-depth study of six OER projects around the world to develop a model of continuous improvement for project leaders to be able to integrate into their projects and share their lesson learned with others.
- OER Case Study Framework: Research results led to the development of a case study model and toolkit for continuous improvement and self-evaluation of OER projects.
- Open Textbook Project: A year-long project based at Foothill-DeAnza Community College examining models for and usage of open textbooks at the community college level.
