Participants: Peralta Community College District’s faculty, tutors, and students.

Overall Goals:
- Improve participants’ awareness of OER through an innovative training program
- Improve participants’ professional skills so they can integrate digital resources into their course
- Encourage participant collaboration, leadership and development of OER
- Support participants’ OER needs
- Empower participants to take an active role in educational resource reform
Pre-training activities: each participant will create a visual representation of their teaching process from idea to implementation (resources they use, who they collaborate with, etc.). Each participant will also bring in a lesson they created and would like to share during the OER Training.
OER Training Themes and Activities:
- Reflect on current teaching processes
- Introduce the OER Process and online collaboration
- Explore OER Commons: Finding, Remixing, Collaborating, Creating, and Sharing OER
- Choose an open license and share online
- Create new curriculum using design thinking*

3:00-4:00 Intro to OER Process: Finding, Remixing, & Sharing Resources

Follow Up Training: Design Challenge Activity
Design Challenge: How might we design a collaborative online open Developmental English textbook project that meets the following design principles:
- The design must meet a need for their school community.
- The design must use collaboration between Professors, Tutors, and Students.
- The design must use OER.
Outcomes: Support student needs and meet the learning goals of the College.
